Let's admit it there's just something so excitingly teasingly, tantalisingly good when you feel the passion, feel the charisma and let's not forget you feel the intense magnetism from the sexy body language.. of a bad boy. Being kept on your toes by a bad boy can give you a new lease for life, it's not dull! It’s interesting.. it's not the traditional take him home to meet the family situation although really deep down.. eventually I know I personally want that. However initially what you crave from a new bad boy relationship is that element of excitement, the more traditional good boy persona is great! But maybe a little bit too predictable.
Now I was thinking all of this today, as by happenstance I came across a post on Instagram from the BBC about the terrifying villains in the Disney films and it goes on to really explain that we ALL love a good villain! without the villain the story is boring and also a complete overload of sweetness, it’s all just a little bit too nice and too together. We all need some excitement, fear, drama to an extent to Spice everything up. Now please don’t miss understand me. I’m in no way saying a relationship which is built on fear is in anyway healthy. It isn’t! So please take this with a pinch. What we need is a touch of spice.. a pinch here and there to add in the flavour we so long and crave. However we always want the villain to leave the building essentially in the end, and we generally want that loved up, destined, reliable, trust worthy sweet kinda peace and happy, healthy happy! ending! You get with your good boy or (girl please adapt boy/girl if applicable for your reading but personally I’m talking about a guy! A man..) continue..
Yes I want happy ending in love, but yes I also want that energising, palpable feeling the intensity of the flaming spice, that passion that only a bad boy himself will bring, now I say this in a healthy way, non toxic if you please! We’re talking a natural magnetism mixed with a really kind heart. Authentic.. an also can I please add that it’s imperative that the passion part to also stays.
I think there comes a time where the good is just too good and too sweet! and the bad is just too bad an nasty.. You just need that perfect blend, that mixture of excitement but blended with that level of God fearing maturity. Getting back to the post I saw on Instagram it went on to say also (which I found interesting) that the villain in every story has a reason they are that way, some are lonely, some have been hurt, others insecure all of these relatable things actually do humanise a villain/bad boy which is why you hear so many stories of.. I know deep down inside of them they aren’t that way! Or as the viewer you recognise that. Some stories where the villain does a whole complete change around and is actually “saved” does happen but it’s really rare.. they often get forgotten in the story, however when change does happen that makes the story have a really nice ending!
We all essentially love and hate a villain at the same time.. but nobody can deny that without them the story would fall flat not be that amusing, and wouldn’t give you the heart palpitations and edge of your seat feeling which we all secretly enjoy and also very much need!
A pinch of this and a pinch of that.. I know I can’t help but love a bad boy. But he has to turn good! A good heart is hard to find 🎶 what do you think?
Wednesday thoughts.. Yve x ;)
