everyday things that inspire.. the beauty of nature & colorful crystals. My mum & Nan have always had crystals, so they're something I've had around me my whole life. Crystals are believed to do a variety of things from transmuting negative energy to powering watches. I think that my Nan's fascination started years back when her and my Grandad lived in South Africa. Don't you think it's funny how natural stones are actually a large part of our culture, the most famous of all would have to be the diamond. Or would you say quarts, for it's practical uses? Yx :)
" Some materials, such as certain ceramics and quartz crystals, can produce electricity when placed under mechanical stress. The ability to convert voltage to and from mechanical stress is called piezoelectricity. Quartz crystals maintain a precise frequency standard, which helps to regulate the movement of a watch or clock, thus making the timepieces very accurate. Quartz is also used in radios, microprocessors, and many other technological and industrial applications." - See more at: http://www.livescience.com/32509-why-is-quartz-used-in-watches.html#sthash.m40y3v0a.dpuf
