Hello friends! I am Announcing the winner of a very special signed copy of the Blue Mind book, written by Dr Wallace J. Nicholas. 🌍 Please join in in wishing congratulations to the lucky winner who is "Natasha Freeman" from South Africa! 🎊🎉🌊💙 💦Congratulations Natasha! Natasha is an investigative writer / author 📚📃🖋 She's been offered a job by the Sustainable Seas Trust. "The SST works to reduce plastics in the oceans, but also on a grander scale to educate and implement systematic change in infrastructure inland from the seas, as a preventative measure to plastics getting into the ocean in the first place." 💙 Being based in South Africa, she says that "this country (and the continent) has different concerns, issues, cultural understandings, and needs to those of developed countries - this is also where the SST is looking to explore further work - to cross cultural boundaries with communication about planet health, plastics, sustainability - and turn those discussions into economic opportunities in impoverished communities as well as create a sense of mutual responsibility for the ocean." 🐠 She says... "Aside from the fact that I love to just be in the sea (cleansing for mind and spirit), the ideas I want to pitch to the SST will involve a rethinking of how we communicate the importance of water: to all communities and community members - and to tackle this thought through exploring the concept of Blue Mind and translating it further into a space that can potentially cross cultural boundaries. 🐚 Where she shared that her work "weaves science, philosophy, ideas, facts, and explorations of the human experience in these contexts" - So she's been dying to read Blue Mind since I heard about it!!! 💙 💦 She finished with; "I think the messages about the sea and our relationship as a species to water, need to be explored in ways that can speak cross-culturally and therein we will, with hope, be able to solidify a more unified approach to how our future looks and that of our precious oceans." I couldn't agree MORE Natasha! 🌊 I look forward to hearing more about Natasha's journey linking the work of the Sustainable Sea Trust with the Blue Mind message! United we stand! 💙👭👬👫💙 I will leave you with simply.. one of the blue mind messages and that is "Protect What you Love" and mine..
